Investors scramble for Speciality Papers' bonus bounty

Speciality Papers hit 5% upper circuit at Rs 57.10 at 11:45 IST on BSE after the company said its board will meet on 14 March 2008 to consider a bonus of shares.

Meanwhile, BSE Sensex was up 346.11 points or 2.15% to 16,469.26.

On BSE, 81,583 shares were traded in the counter. The scrip had an average daily volume of 22,593 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 57.10 and a low of Rs 51.70 so far during the day. The stock had a 52-week high of Rs 107.50 on 18 January 2008 and a 52-week low of Rs 26 on 3 April 2007.

The company’s current equity is Rs 3.84 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

The current price of Rs 57.10 discounts Q3 December 2007 annualised EPS of Rs 5.73 by a PE multiple of 9.96.

Speciality Papers’ net profit rose 3.8% to Rs 0.55 crore on 1.6% growth in net sales to Rs 14.31 crore in Q3 December 2007 over Q3 December 2006.

The company is engaged in manufacturing and selling paper and paper related products. The company’s products include tissue papers, hygiene products and printing and writing papers.
