New order win powers RPG Cables

RPG Cables gained 2.47% to Rs 37.40 at 14:23 IST on BSE after the company said it has secured an order worth $25 million for supply of medium voltage and low voltage cables of various sizes.

The company made this announcement during trading hours today, 12 March 2008.

On BSE, 11,820 shares were traded in the counter. The scrip had an average daily volume of 42,295 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 38.50 and a low of Rs 36.50 so far during the day. The stock had a 52-week high of Rs 67.90 on 19 November 2007 and a 52-week low of Rs 32.75 on 10 March 2008.

The company’s current equity is Rs 32.03 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

RPG Cables reported net loss of Rs 1.79 crore in Q3 December 2007 as compared to net loss of Rs 6.46 crore in Q3 December 2006. Net sales rose 102.2% to Rs 102.33 crore in Q3 December 2007 over Q3 December 2006.

The company is engaged in manufacturing cables. The company operates in two segments power cables and telecommunication cables. The company manufactures four types of cables viz., power and control cables, jelly filled telephone cables, optical fibre cables and house wiring cables.
