New product launch invigorates Himalya International

Himalya International soared 9.79% to Rs 23 at 15:06 IST on BSE on launching four new products - Himalya Fresh, American Harvest, Bufalabella and Uno Italiano that are specially packed for the company and imported from the US.

On BSE, 1.32 lakh shares were traded in the counter. The scrip had an average daily volume of 1.05 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 23 and a low of Rs 21.90 so far during the day. The stock had a 52-week high of Rs 36.90 on 8 January 2008 and a 52-week low of Rs 11.58 on 16 July 2007.

The company’s current equity is Rs 26.82 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

The current price of Rs 23 discounts Q3 December 2007 annualized EPS of Rs 4.53, by a PE multiple of 5.08.

Himalya International has launched fresh mushrooms, IQF-frozen vegetables like asparagus, red and yellow peppers and frozen fruits like blueberries and three berries mix under Himalya Fresh. It has launched buffalo mozzarella cheese, ricotta and mascarpone, Italian pizza cheese and cottage cheese under its brand Bufalabella.

Under American Harvest, the company has launched canned soups (cream of mushrooms, celery, broccoli and vegetable minestrone) chocolate coated almonds, almond clusters, and dried fruits like apricots, kiwi, strawberry and apples.

Himalya International’s net profit rose 93.6% to Rs 3.04 crore on 51.5% growth in net sales to Rs 12.65 crore in Q3 December 2007 over Q3 December 2006.

The company's principal activity is to market mushrooms, fruits and vegetables.
