Bharti Airtel Record monthly subscriber (2.5 million)

Bharti Airtel rose 2.06% to Rs 757 at 12:22 IST on BSE on reports the company added 2.5 million new subscribers in June 2008, which is the highest ever monthly customer addition by any operator in India.

The stock hit a high of Rs 798.65 and a low of Rs 740 so far during the day. The stock had a 52-week high of Rs 1,149 on 10 October 2007 and a 52-week low of Rs 688 on 1 July 2008.

The company has an equity capital of Rs 1,898.02 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

The current price of Rs 757 discounts its Q4 March 2008 annualised EPS of Rs 37.77, by a

PE multiple of 20.04.

Bharti had added 2.46 million subscribers in the previous month.

Bharti Airtel reported 39.30% rise in net profit to Rs 1792.30 crore on 41.82% increase in total income to Rs 7446.82 crore in Q4 March 2008 over Q4 March 2007.

Bharti Airtel provides mobile telecommunication services in India. It also provides fixed-line, VSAT, Internet and broadband services.
