Pfizer gains on decent Q4 show

Pfizer gained 1.26% to Rs 640.85 on BSE at 14:11 IST after the company reported 29.76% rise in net profit to Rs 22.06 crore in Q4 November 2007 over Q4 November 2006.

The results were announced during trading hours today, 25 February 2008.

Meanwhile, BSE Sensex was up 135.73 points or 0.78% to 17,484.80.

On BSE, 10,244 shares were traded in the counter. The scrip had an average daily volume of 12,453 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 662 and low of Rs 636.15 so far during the day. The stock had a 52-week high of Rs 893 on 4 May 2007 and a 52-week low of Rs 581 on 22 January 2008.

The mid-cap scrip had underperformed the market over the past one month till 22 February 2008, gaining 0.23% compared to the Sensex’s return of 0.74%. It had outperformed the market in the past one quarter, declining 3.26% compared to Sensex’s decline of 7.98%.

The company’s current equity is Rs 29.64 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

The current price of Rs 640.85 discounts its Q3 August 2007 annualized EPS of Rs 41.33, by a PE multiple of 18.64.

Pfizer’s total income rose 9.16% to Rs 199.66 crore in Q4 November 2007 over Q4 November 2006.
