Alok Industries skids

Alok Industries declined 5.83% to Rs 58.95 at 13:11 IST on BSE after the company said on Wednesday, 12 March 2008, its unit Alok Infrastructure has taken a 50% stake in Ashford Infotech for joint development of realty projects.

The company made this announcement after market hours on Wednesday 12 March 2008.

The stock hit a high of Rs 61.90 and a low of Rs 58.70 so far during the day. The stock had a 52-week high of Rs 107.75 on 1 January 2008 and a 52-week low of Rs 51.25 on 14 March 2007.

The company’s current equity is Rs 187.17 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

The current price of Rs 58.95 discounts its Q3 December 2007 annualized EPS of Rs 11.16, by a PE multiple of 5.07.

Ashford Infotech had recently purchased 6.92 acres of land for around Rs 130 crore from CEAT.

Alok Industries is engaged in manufacturing and selling home textiles, apparel fabric, garments and polyester yarns.

Alok Industries net profit rose 31.7% to Rs 48.80 crore on 14.8% rise in sales to Rs 550.78 crore in Q3 December 2007 over Q3 December 2006.
