Birla Corporation slides

Birla Corporation declined 3.26% to Rs 206.50 at 11:44 IST on BSE after the company said it has suspended operations at two cement plants in West Bengal because of labour dispute.

The stock hit a high of Rs 212 and a low of Rs 203 so far during the day. The stock had a 52-week high of Rs 386 on 20 November 2007 and a 52-week low of Rs 175 on 22 January 2008.

The company’s current equity is Rs 77.01 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

The current price of Rs 206.50 discounts its Q3 December 2007 annualized EPS of Rs 55.27, by a PE multiple of 3.74.

Birla Corporation’s net profit rose 11.8% to Rs 106.40 on 5.8% growth in net sales to Rs 432.86 crore in Q3 December 2007 over Q3 December 2006.
