Moschip Semiconductor gains on acquisition

Moschip Semiconductor Technology gained 3.88% to Rs 18.75 at 11:53 IST on BSE after the company said it has acquired the license to TruVNS Technology from Alliacense, the licensing division of The TPL group.

The stock hit a high of Rs 18.85 and a low of Rs 17.80 so far during the day. The stock had a 52-week high of Rs 55.55 on 8 August 2007 and the stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 13 on 24 March 2008.

The company’s current equity is Rs 43.38 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

TruVNS Technology is a division of The TPL Group. It enables industry-standard bulk encryption for 1394 connectivity and storage management solutions.

Moschip Semiconductor Technology reported a net loss of Rs 2.16 crore in Q3 December 2007 as compared to net loss of Rs 2.06 crore in Q2 September 2007. Net sales fell 11.95% to Rs 1.40 crore in Q3 December 2007 over Q2 September 2007.

The company's principal activity is to develop, market and sale software. It develops application specific integrated circuits and system on a chip for PC peripheral, data communication and consumer electronics.
