UCO Bank spurts on strong quarterly earnings

UCO Bank jumped 13.69% to Rs 50.25 at 15:20 IST on BSE after posting 177.84% surge in net profit to Rs 85.99 crore on 27.03% rise in total income to Rs 2053.29 crore in Q4 March 2008 over Q4 March 2007.

The stock hit a high of Rs 51.50 and a low of Rs 44.20 so far during the day. The stock had a 52-week high of Rs 88.40 on 3 January 2008 and a 52-week low of Rs 21.90 on 8 June 2007.

The bank’s current equity is Rs 799.36 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

The current price of Rs 50.25 discounts its Q3 December 2007 annualised EPS of Rs 4.14, by a PE multiple of 12.14.

UCO Bank’s net profit rose 30.39% to Rs 412.16 crore on 26.39% rise in total income to Rs 7280.69 crore in the year ended March 2008 (FY 2008) over the year ended March 2007 (FY 2007).

The bank provides banking and other financial services to corporate and private customers. The group offers personal banking, cash management, retail loans and other financial services. Other services include deposit, saving/current bank accounts, personal loans, retail trade finance, treasury and forex, corporate loans and other loans.
